Brainstorming Blog Post Notes

Description:
The Blog of Tim Ferris (www.FourHourWorkWeek.com) featured a post on
How to Take Notes Like an Alpha-Geek (http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2007/12/05/how-to-take-notes-like-an-alpha-geek-plus-my-2600-date-challenge/), where Tim reveals his tactics on taking great notes.

This is one of three pages I processed using qipit. All three “qipits” (The Biology of Sleep Notes, Indexing AJ Jacobs Latest Book, Brain Storming Blog Post Notes) can be seen by clicking the other documents link on the right hand side of this page. The original image can also be seen by clicking the original image tab at the top left of the image.

I captured the source image (http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/blog-brainstorms.jpg) for his Blog Post Brain Storming Notes.
In less than a minute, qipit transformed the faded picture of his notes into a much cleaner clear digital copy which can be shared via a URL, PDF or embedded directly into a blog as a clickable thumbnail. The new digital copy can now be tagged for easy retrieval in the future.

Tuna and White Bean Salad Recipe
document image

Description:
Here is a Tuna and White Bean salad recipe I captured at an in-store display at whole foods. Rather than taking the recipe and stuffing it in my pocket to be thrown away, I just made a qipit of it and tagged it recipe. That way, I know where to find it. The recipe uses a can of American Tuna pole caught, wild albacore, much better than regular canned tuna.

Keynote Biographies - Texas Wireless Summit - Austin
document image

Description:
Jeff McDowell, Vice President of Global Alliances at Research In Motion (RIM), Alan Pritchard, Vice President North American Wireless Account Development at Nortel Networks, and Ali Afrashteh, Vice-President of Access Technologies at Sprint Nextel gave keynote speeches at the Texas Wireless Summit (http://www.twsummit.com/) in Austin, October 18-19, 2007. Now in its fifth year, the Summit is hosted by the Austin Wireless Alliance (AWA) with the support of the Wireless Networking and Communications Group (WNCG) at The University of Texas at Austin.

Jeff McDowell talked about RIM's continuing ambition to improve the productivity of Industry Professionals. Sounds like qipit and RIM have something in common. We just need more and better cameras in those Blackberrys (2 megapixel + w/Auto-focus or Macro-mode)!

Alan Pritchard gave insights on a research project they conducted with CSMG. They found the younger demographic is enthusiastic about mobile social networking and digital lockers have a lot of appeal. Also said to look for EVDO Rev C in early 2009.

Another hot topic was 4G. Who will win WiMax or LTE. Seems that WiMax will rollout first with Sprint and Clearwire in late 2007, but LTE will be more widely adopted once all the standards are set. No other US carriers have committed to WiMax. Either way, things should get a lot faster!

Paul Tower of RealNetworks gave a keynote speech at the Texas Wireless Summit in Austin. His speech centered around personalization as the key driver for growth in the mobile entertainment industry. Gave the normal spill about ringtones, ringbacks and games. Also talked a little about "Caller Tag" (http://www.realnetworks.com/products/asp/personalize/ctag.html) a that service that allows wireless subscribers to personalize their caller information and deliver it to the call recipient's mobile phone during an incoming call as a text message.

This just so happens to be the last issue of Business 2.0, seems ironic that the magazine based on the next generation of Businesses closes just as the new facebook economy gets started.
